This course is an introduction to hair colouring within the hairdressing profession and provides you with a solid foundation in the most essential colouring techniques. You will learn about colour theory, the colour wheel, pigments, levels, and tonal directions, giving you a fundamental understanding of how hair colour reacts and develops on different hair types.

Throughout the course, you will work hands-on with colouring techniques and learn how to analyse the starting hair, select the right products, and apply colour using correct application methods. You will be introduced to classic colouring tasks such as full colour, toning, grey coverage, highlights, and colour correction, as well as current trends and colour concepts. You will gain insight into how colours are combined and adapted to the client’s skin tone, style, and personal expression, ensuring a harmonious and professional result.

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to understand the practical principles of hair colouring and gain realistic insight into the colour side of the hairdressing profession. It works both as an independent skills upgrade and as a perfect entry point to a longer hairdressing education.
